TURBIDITY FINDING - Heavy rain previous day - 50 ml in rain gauge.
River very full, not quite overflowing, running fast and very turbulent. Had overflowed in last 24 hours, flooding out campers close to river bank.
Flowing water was extremely muddy brown from Big Tree site all the way to outflow to sea.
Due to flow rapidity, for safety reasons, water samples were collected closer to bank than usual.
Whole width of river carrying muddy sediment.
