From 10-14 Jan I measured 220 ml of rain but higher in Birch's Creek catchment, they exceeded 250 ml in the Mollonghip, Dean areas. Hence again, we saw the creek in flood to equal the 4th Sept flood. Not as much debris this time but more erosion. Potatoe farmers in the upper areas on the choice red soils report loss's of an average 10% for the last three lots of heavy rain events - that's where the red discolourations come from. The difference and how much vegetation was lost even though most was willow, and the leaveson the trees now.... use the old gums as a reference.
