a coolish morning, no wind (typical autumn day). At my Mill Park rain gauge I recorded 5mm of rain from 5-7/04/09. There was a rain event with 30mm rain recorded on the Friday previous (03/04/09). Sample point is just above the road bridge, at the downstream narrow end of a large pool on the bend in the river, up a few metres from the bridge. The water level has been higher as evidenced by silt and a black "oily" film on the vegetation around the pool (fine carbon?) The water level today was 36cm below my reference point, which is 20cm higher than when last sampled on 26/03/09. Heard a few common froglets, pobblebonks and spotted marsh frogs.
