Litter/Pollutants
Phosphate and Ammonium tests conducted at 16 degrees celsius rainfall: a trace in last 24 hrs, 3mm in last 3 days, 28mm in last 7 days litter: almost the same as on 29-03-10: lots of polystyrene, lots of bottles below bridge, ots of plastic on streamside veg., balls, balloon, timber, wheelbarrow, foam, fabric, large blue plastic ocntainer, corrgated iron (part of water tank?) Most of this is upstream of bridge - about 100m. What has changed since last time you monitored? Air and water temperatures lower: lower water level: less turbid, but sample still needed to be filtered for phosphate and ammonium tests. More oxygen since 26-2-10 What stands out about the site today? Rubbish from last time has not been removed. conductivity higher, more phosphate (sample diluted 1:1, then the result multiplied by 2) Only tap water was avialable for the dilution. Other observations: vandalism downstream from site- items stolen from edendale farm on 2 occasions. Pacific black ducks, moorhen, indian mynah, acacia dealbata in bud, persicaria in flower.
