Photos attached show the algae in the river at the fishing platform, it is particularly evident in the river downstream from the where the caravan park pumps out its water. There is algae at different points along the river below the pump. Below the bridge there are two signs warning against swimming in the river due to high levels of bacteria. There has been discussion amongst the Waterwatch group about the health of the river as the signs have been placed at the rivermouth during the Summer. The concern we have is that the river has not had a chance to flow properly over the Summer due to all the water being pumped out for businesses and individuals.
