Hazards
Litter/Pollutants

There had been a lot of rain recently but the amount was not recorded. The turbidity was not uniform throughout the lake. As always happens after a lot of rain the salt lake stratifyes and has the fresh water sitting on top of the more turbid water. It is the layer of less turbid water that we tested.  The nitrate test is forming a milky/cloudy precipitate instead of giving us a result. We think that this is the chemicals in the test reacting with the salt water or metals in the lake. Recent rainfall has increased the freshwater input into the lake, bird activity was observed.
