Victorian Water Authorities support community, education and involvement in sustainable water management.

The Victorian water industry is supported by a statewide body (www.vicwater.org.au).

The Water Corporations are listed on the Department of Sustainability and Environment website.

Regional Water Authorities

Regional Urban Water Authorities (RUWAs) provide water and wastewater services to regional Victoria. They include:

  1. Barwon Water
  2. Coliban Water
  3. Gippsland Water
  4. Goulburn Valley Water
  5. Wannon Water
  6. Westernport Water
  7. Central Highlands Water
  8. East Gippsland Water
  9. North East Water

The Rural Water Businesses overlap the regional urban areas, and the services supplied include farm supply, irrigation, stock and domestic supply, and the wholesale supply of water to regional urban distributors.

Melbourne Metro Water Authorities

 Three metropolitan retail suppliers operate the retail water distribution and sewerage systems for the Melbourne metropolitan area. Melbourne Water supplies the three retail companies and controls headworks and major sewerage treatment plants and is responsible for drainage and waterways.
